Removing Unwanted SectionsAlthough Wave Repair does not have a general cut/paste facility, if does have a mechanism to delete unwanted sections of the waveform. An unwanted section is highlighted, then marked for deletion. Many such sections can be marked, and then all of them can be deleted in one go. This involves only one rewrite of the file, thus saving time. As well as removal of lengthy regions of "dead space" (eg. the few seconds of lead-in groove before the music starts), this facility can be used to simply excise a very short section of damaged waveform which cannot be repaired by any other means. If the time period cut out is sufficiently short, the effect on the tempo of the music is often undetectable. |
