MutingIf a very short section of damage cannot be repaired by any other means, it may be that simply replacing it with silence is preferable to the sound of the original damage. This is generally used as a last resort; physically cutting out the damaged section is usually better than muting it.It may also be appropriate to make the last few seconds of a file silent (after the music has finished) so that after listening the playback does not end suddenly. |
